Menu Plan Monday

I don't usually dislike winter.  In fact I enjoy it for the most part.  This is good considering I live in the Northeast with NO plans of moving anywhere, pretty much ever.  But this December and January has been a long month filled with annoying illnesses.  We are not normally a sick bunch but this past month, and now the beginning of February is giving us a run for our money.  Fevers, stomach bugs, earaches, sore throats, runny noses, headaches, etc.  And with six people in the house when an illness makes its rounds, it sticks around for at least a week.  The spring weather will be enjoyed when I can open the windows and air out the house again.

This week we are in for two changes.  Jon starts his night school class (postponed from last week due to the snow storm that wasn't really a big deal in the end).  And Owen is going to start staying at school for lunch.  He has been going to preschool since September and loving it but I was picking him up at lunch.  After some discussing between Jon and I and some begging on Owen's part we decided to increase his time at school.  While he will continue to go two days a week he will now stay until 1 instead of 11:30.  The biggest change there is that he can't have his beloved pb&j those days as he attends a nut free school.  So this week we begin exploring new cold lunch choices for Owen.

On this week's meal plan:

Breakfast:
homemade banana bread
homemade cinnamon raisin bread
bagels and cream cheese
cereal
oatmeal
yogurt
*all served with fruit

Lunches:
peanut butter and jelly
pepperoni and cheese
macaroni and cheese
ham and cheese (notice a them going here?)
chicken nuggets
hot dogs
*all served with fruit or apple sauce

Dinners:

Monday- Chicken nuggets and chicken patties with baby carrots and salad.

Tuesday- Meatball grinders (one of Madeline's favorites) and corn (frozen from our CSA this past summer)

Wednesday- Breakfast for dinner, lovingly called Brinner (thanks "Scrubs") in our house.  This week will include pancakes (making a triple batch and freezing the extra), sausage and mango.

Thursday- Shrimp and pasta with green beans.  Unless Jon finds a babysitter and takes me out for my birthday.

Friday- Pizza pockets (I will freeze the extra pockets for quick lunches for me) and baby carrots

Saturday- One pot pasta

Sunday- Homemade soup from the freezer and homemade bread from the bread machine

ha! We call it brinner, too. :) Looks like you go through as much cheese as we do. I'm going to check out a couple of your recipes.

Cheese is almost it's own food group in my house. My kids love it in all forms- on sandwiches, on pizza, string cheese, slices of cheese for snack, with pasta. I gave up and now buy the "family" size bag of shredded cheese instead of the smaller bags.
Thanks for stopping by!
